Narain a.k.a msnarain a.k.a Sathyanarain is a Mechanical Engineer caught in web 2.0

He is a writer, photographer, musician, cartoonist and a thinker.

He used to write small meaningless stories when his age was still in single digit, but soon graduated to meaningful stories, poems and essays. He has got many awards in expempore events for short stories, poetry and essays in the ational level.

His love for music came when his father was transferred to Rajasthan, again when he was about 7 years old. The ambience in Rajasthan, the occasional visits to the Mughal places like Agra, Fatehpur Sikri and Mathura nearby brought into him the passion to learn Hindustani Music. He is now a professionally qualified Hindustani Musician certified by the Gandharva University, Bombay. Unfortunately, he couldnt continue his Hindustani lessons in vocal, harmonium and tabla when his dad was transferred back to their native city, Madras. It was at this stage that he took to the keyboard. Though not professionally qualified, he has played the keyboard, tabla and drums for his garage band, school band, college band, All India Radio, The Music Academy and other places. He is currently into composing small jingles. He listens to A R Rahman, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Linkin Park mainly though he appreciates all form of quality music - in all genres.

His eye for photography was hereditary as his father himself was an amateur photographer. Narain soon acquired a Canon S3 IS and is currently on shoot at sight orders! He carries his trusty Canon to all places and he is probably the only person on earth who carried his camera to college. almost daily! His main interests in photography are macro photography, street photography, indoor photography and night photography though he almost shoots everything! His photographs can be viewed here.

Cartooning was something he started doing even before he started to talk! He drew caricatures of every professor and friend in college. This is what he did in class even as the professors thought that he was sincerely taking notes! More on all these can be read here.

Organising events also is something that comes easily to Narain. He has organised so far two national Symposia and three national Culturals. He headed a team of around 50 in organising the last symposium.
